The suggested regular edition consists of two main parts. The first part is dedicated to the history of the XXth century art theory and is connected with a project, initiated by the Art Theory Department, as well as with the conference “Theory of Art at the End of the XXth Century: Results and Prospects” held in 1999. This part analyzes psychological, semiotic, philosophic and other aspects of the art theory. The second part of the edition is dedicated to discussion of the problems, connected with different aspects of identity and the way it influences the practice of art and how art contributes to its forming and maintenance or, vice versa, to its destruction. The themes of this part are related to the conference “Art and Civilization Identity” held at the institute in 2006.
