The confession "The Weight of Beauty" was the first published experience of anorexia in our country in 2014. Today, from the perspective of a married woman and mother of three children, the author looks at the traumas of her upbringing and restores hope to girls who cannot find a way to fight an eating disorder. In the last 10 years, the possibilities for treating eating disorders have not improved, while the problem is still suppressed in public and the fight against anorexia is left to worried parents and doctors who are directly faced with cases of girls who refuse food.
In the foreword to the second edition, Neda Vukovic writes: "People who have an eating disorder or who have once had it live with a deep sense of shame because of the state they are in or because of what they have been through. I wanted to write for them and show myself. For girls who lie in wards and are afraid that they will be given a feeding tube. They do not menstruate and the space of hunger is the only space in which they are their own. "If they see me and my children, maybe something will be stirred in them and they will have hope that they can live functionally in a form that is acceptable to them."
