The book contains 36 articles that shed light on the development of the Ukrainian language in conditions of statelessness.
Particular attention is paid to the peculiarities of the functioning of the Ukrainian language in an official business style in the territory of Eastern Halychyna during the Austro-Hungarian monarchy (1848–1914). Materials (orders, resolutions, etc.) of both the central government in Vienna, as well as the Lviv Viceroyalty and the Galician Sejm, which regulated the use of the Ukrainian language in the public spheres of Ukrainians, were submitted.
