The story of this novel by Anahit A. Avagyan stretches from the time of the founding of the village of Shaki to the present day. The past and the present are connected not only by the spirit of the mythical Shaki waterfall, but also, first of all, by human destinies. Having gone through Stalinist repressions, world war, the Artsakh wars and the pandemic, emigrating from their homeland, many of the heroes find the strength and solace to live. Even in the most difficult times, they preserve humanity, reaching out and holding the hand that is extended to them. And some, nevertheless, do not change their destructive course for nature and people. The novel sounds as an exhortation, and also as a demand, the messages of caring for nature and the homeland, not despairing and loving people and life, which are the guarantee of the endangered existence of humanity.
