The author concentrates upon study of the early centuries of Christianity on the territory of the Old Rus'. I.Froyanov discourses upon the everyday life and beliefs of the Eastern Slavs, penetration of Christianity into the territory of Eastern Europe and, in particular, the position and role of the Christian Church in ancient Russian society. A special attention is paid to study of Eastern-Slavonic paganism, which preserved exceptional liveliness in the course of several centuries after the christening of the Russian State.
