In the last years of his life, Slovenian ethnologist and anthropologist Zmago Smitek devoted his research to the crucial question of today, the way of coexistence of man with the natural environment. From the attention that today's science pays to this issue, in the author's view, many new, but unfortunately underused, findings emerge. In particular, biological sciences, which break the established boundaries between man and animal, and between nature and culture, predominate.
