The monograph investigates the phenomenon of "provincial tsars" in Georgia of XIV-XV centuries. The institute of provincial tsars was established under conditions of central government power weakening and Georgia gradual splitting into separate independent half-states. The numerous representatives of tsar's family did not put up with their role of subordinate to the official country ruler and, residing in provinces, announced themselves tsars with all applying attributes.
