The three-volume edition addressed to a wide range of readers narrates about interesting and at times dramatic destinies of Polish people, which did the penal servitude in the times of Tsar in Transbaikalia. The authors describe in this book the history of Russian-Polish relations, the burning problems concerning ethnopolitical position of Polish people in Russia, the contribution of Polish scientists in the culture and economy of Siberia. The narration covers the period from the beginning of the XIXth century till the present day. The authors made use of a wide circle of unique materials and archival documents. Several archival photos are also included.
