When a Lucnica member hears the song 'Shaft, orca', he looks around and looks around for another Lucnica member. This signal has greeted several generations of dancers and dancers from the Lucnica folk dance ensemble. And although much has changed in the 75 years of its existence, the young energy, wit and vigour still nourish Lucnica today. This book introduces Lucnica for the first time as a body that owes its success to several components: the dance ensemble, the choir, the orchestra with folk music and the costume workshop. It is also an answer to the question of how a group of Bratislava university students and folk dance lovers became a Slovak cultural phenomenon.
