The author was the first to focus on various patriotic associations that created the seedbed for subsequent political processes. It was precisely the Slovak exile where the desire for the restoration of statehood was still smoldering. But the initial idea for the completion of our statehood was born in civic associations, on the soil of Matica Slovenska, but also in various associations of the Slovak intelligentsia. It was there that the intellectual software of our statehood was created. And this is the greatest contribution of Mindar's popular scientific monograph. So far, no author has described in such detail and chronologically the processes that took place in the early 1990s in Matica Slovenska, has not devoted so much space to the meetings of Slovaks in southern Slovakia, the stagnation of Matica Slovenska as an institution that generated and raised fundamental political questions. In addition, the monograph also thoroughly describes the stagnation of several, perhaps now half-forgotten organizations. However, the monograph is not just a dry scientific-popular treatise, the text itself is enlivened by elements of oral history, i.e. interviews with direct participants in the completion of our statehood, which gives the monograph another, very sympathetic dimension...
