The monograph offers a comprehensive study of the nominal presence and substantive functioning of the names of the Mother of God (Theotokos, Mother of God, Virgin Mary, and other names) in the ancient Rus' chronicle texts of the 11th - the 13th centuries ("The Tale of Bygone Years", the Kyiv Chronicle and the Galician-Volyn Chronicle). The studio has a literary orientation and concerns the metaphysical basis of Rus' chronicles as a syncretic complex of reflection of historical, topical and prognostic reality at the levels of pragmatic and symbolic meanings.
