Basing on closed before archival materials and published sources, the material given in the monograph views the formation and functioning of censorial system in the Soviet Russia. The role of Central Committee authorities - Politbiuro, Orgbiuro and Secretariat in the organization and management of Glavlit (state agency of centralized censure) is revealed in the book. Istpart and the Institute of Lenin, which performed the censure functions, are in the center of attention.
