The illuminated annalistic chronicle represents a legendary collection of Ivan the Terrible – the largest chronographic work of Medieval Rus illustrated with about 17 000 colored miniatures with a binder made of high-quality nubuk lettered in gold and decorative elements on the book cover. This monument to Old Russian book art representing the earliest historical and literary encyclopedia and completely reproducing miniatures and Old Russian text of every sheet of the original manuscript doesn’t’ have analogs in terms of the scale and presentation form of the covered material. The second book of the edition describes the Russian history from 1152 to 1173 including data on the death of Iziaslav II of Kiev, reign of Vyacheslav I, Andrey Bogolyubsky, Yuri Dolgorukiy and his son Gleb of Kiev.
