The book by Lappo Ivanovich (1869-1944) - the Russian historian. In 1905-1919 - professor of Russian history at Tartu University. In 1921-33 he worked as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Law. In 1933-1940 - professor at the University of Vytautas the Great in Kaunas. In 1938 "for Merit to Lithuania" was awarded the Order of Gediminas of the IIIrd degree, and in 1939 received the Lithuanian citizenship.
