The women's almanac "First Wreath" became the first collection in which "under the banner of literature" women of different social classes, of different ages, from different parts of politically divided Ukraine were united. Not all of the 17 authors of "First Wreath" later became famous writers, such as Natalia Kobrynska, Lesia Ukrainka, Olena Pchilka, Uliana Kravchenko, Liudmyla Starytska or Dniprova Chaika. But the fact that women first appeared together in the literary field gives this almanac a significant role in the history of the literary process, the Ukrainian press, and the women's movement. The almanac "The First Wreath", according to Ulyana Kravchenko, became "a document of the life of a Ukrainian woman" in its content. The works contained therein reflected the most pressing problems of women's lives - relationships with men, women's misfortune, physicality, the beginnings of a new movement among women, various female types and psychological characters, and the modern economic and social state of Ukrainian women.
