The monograph examines discursive ways of constructing a factory identity based on the memoirs of Uralmash workers collected by the Museum of the History of Uralmashzavod (Yekaterinburg) in the 1960s–1980s. Particular attention is paid to the identification and description of significant identifications for the "Uralmash": ideological, professional, spatial and temporal. The monograph also contains a review of literary and journalistic texts of the 1930s, which served as a “discursive factory” for developing important meanings in the story about Uralmash and the Ural workers.
