The work is dedicated to the foreign policy of the USSR in the Finnish direction, the activities of the Soviet leadership to establish good-neighborly relations with the Finns in the face of the approaching threat of World War II.
Special attention is paid to the implementation of the articles of the Treaty between the Soviet Union and Finland, signed on March 12, 1940, and their violation by Helsinki, which ultimately led not only to the deterioration of bilateral relations, but also to Suomi's defection to Nazi Germany.
