The monograph analyzes the dramatic existence of the Ukrainian man in the 20th century, which can be fully understood through folkloric concepts that objectify various life experiences, practices and popular ideas about the world wars and their consequences, the Ukrainian national liberation struggle of the first half of the 20th century, the Holodomor 1932- 1933 and post-war deportations. For the first time in Ukrainian folkloristic science, a new method of historical folklore research is proposed based on extensive source material.
