Ivan Bohun is a wise military leader, a brave Cossack and a legendary figure who adorns the pages of Ukrainian history with his powerful figure. Centuries later, he instills in us an unquestionable love for the Motherland and inspires us to perform feats. Historians do not know the exact date and place of birth of the future Podolsk colonel. According to one assumption, he was the son of the Ukrainian nobleman Fedor Bohun and was born around 1618. Ivan Bohun loved Ukraine above all, so in political disputes he defended its independence to the last breath. Bohun opposed the decision of Bohdan Khmelnytsky to conclude the Treaty of Bila Tserkva on October 28, 1651, condemned the concessions to the Poles in reducing the registered Cossacks, and in 1654 did not recognize the decision of the Pereyaslav Council.
