Famous Ukrainian scholars, writers and artists have loved traveling in sunny Italy since ancient times and left us extremely interesting memories and travel essays that could become the basis of a dozen anthologies. We decided to offer modern readers only a part of the most original publications of the Ukrainian travelers of the first third of the 20th century about one of the most charming cities in Italy - Venice. The cultural essays of famous Ukrainian historian Mykhailo Hrushevskyi "Across the world: [Venice]" and writer Osyp Nazaruk's "Venice" of 1934 were the basis of our edition, as well as travel essays and sketches of Halychyna writers Mykhailo Ostroverkha, Daria Vikonska, Yaroslava Mandyukova and Transcarpathian poet Zoreslav.
