The book explores the prerequisites for the Bulgarian reality, laid down in the centuries-old "ground" formed in our country. The Bulgarian political ground is located in several fields - political science, history and sociology. Despite its scientific nature, the subject matter and language are also aimed at the general public. If the author has any tasks to solve, they can be reduced to two. Above all, it shows that everything that is happening today has its deep roots, which are found in the Bulgarian political ground. The second challenge is to establish which are the layers in the ground and how they influenced the Bulgarian politics and society after the Liberation. How did this ground react to the communist wave that flooded all of Eastern Europe in the middle of the 20th century and what is the reaction of this same Bulgarian ground to liberal democracy at the end of the century, and to this day.
