The month is May 1997 and a man by the name of Isak Maestro shows up at the reception of a nursing home in Travnik, seeking to visit his father, whom he says he never had the chance to meet, as the fatal years of World War II threw them at different sides of the world. Before the eyes of the on-duty doctor and medical staff, the first father-son encounter takes place after more than five decades of separation, until old Daniel Maestro breaks this sentimental atmosphere with a sentence that will leave everyone present in dismay: the man who visited him did not and he cannot be his son because his only son Isaac died in Israel in 1970.
