Systemic and new problems, risks and opportunities for economic, including sustainable, development of the Russian Arctic are considered. An analysis of the features, trends and prospects of industrial production in the Russian Arctic is given, on the basis of which problems and the specifics of the functioning of single-industry towns are identified. The readiness of the regions of the Russian Arctic to overcome modern economic instability from the point of view of the labor market has been established.
