The author of the presented work is a professor of the Kievan Taras Shevchenko State University. In his works he reveals problems of Ukrainian history, studies the historical fate of Cossacks of Ukraine, Ukrainian settlements, national minorities. Connections between Simon Petliura and Jewish minority are analyzed from different points of view. Basing the report on little-known archive documents, the author is inclined to think that Simon Petlura was a defender of Jews against the Communist repressions.
