The book is a historical review of old Yekaterinburg streets and squares as structural elements of the city territory, shown in connection with the life and activities of many generations of city dwellers. The book provides material on the rivers and ponds of Yekaterinburg, its immediate suburbs, without which the image of the city would be incomplete. The book also offers a glimpse into the city's depths - not those that are the product of ancient times, but those hidden ones that were created by human hands. The second version of the book contains fundamentally new sections concerning the dungeons of Yekaterinburg, its suburbs and former factory settlements - VIZ, Uktus, Nizhne-Isetsk, as well as Shartash and Elizaveta. The publication contains significant reference material, summarizing information from various sources, as well as rare and little-known photographs from museum and archival funds, unique pictures from private collections.
