The book is dedicated to the memory of Stepan Fedorovich Ogorodnikov (1835-1909) who was a native of the city of Arkhangelsk, a prominent researcher, expert and author of numerous works on the history of the Russian Navy and the Russian North. The collection includes previously not republished books and articles by the author devoted to various issues of the history of the Arkhangelsk region. The purpose of the publication is to preserve and popularize the creative heritage of the outstanding Arkhangelsk citizen.
