The statements of the Manchu Qing military commanders regarding the gradual extermination of the Dzungarian people were selected from the 283-volume compilation of documents titled "Compilation of Manchu-written Archives of Xinjiang during the Qing Dynasty", translated from Manchu, and published. They consist of 144 documents related to the years 1757-1761. The statements contain extensive information about the struggle of the Dzungarian people, the mass killing of those who tried to survive in the forests and mountains, the preparation of troops to enter the city, and the cultivation of military food.
