The book on sports law by the authors Karina Zalcmanes and Marina Kameneckas-Usova: "Sports rights. Current problems, challenges and latest trends" is a good contribution in the field of sports law, which has been little studied in Latvia so far. Especially, taking into account the growing role of sports in international, social and even political life in recent years, as well as the high achievements of our athletes. The main topics discussed in the work are: the legal framework of modern sports law in the European Union and Latvia, legal responsibility in the field of sports, problematic issues and challenges of sports law today. The authors have indicated the main, currently valid, most important legal acts of both foreign and Latvian legislation in the sports sector. Their application is analyzed, mainly using foreign court practice. Along with issues such as compliance with the principle of good governance in national sports organizations, attention was paid to the regulation of responsibility in sports. Administrative, civil and criminal aspects of liability are emphasized. The book can be useful not only for those employed in the sports industry, athletes, but also for sports fans and anyone interested in sports-related issues.
