The book represents the most complete collection of works by the poets perished during the Great Patriotic War. It contains poems by more than sixty authors among whom there are many whose works have never been included into such kind of anthologies before. The book unites the poets who died within the first few days of the war and at the end of it, in Leningrad blockade and concentration camps. A number of the previously censored poems are published without amendments.
