Ukrainian statesman, prose writer, playwright and artist Vladimir Vinnichenko (1880-1951) made his debut in literature at the beginning of the twentieth century. He was forced to leave Ukraine, lived for some time in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France. Abroad, he collaborated with a number of Ukrainian publications, the political career of the artist continued in exile. The plots of short stories and short stories included in the publication mainly reflect the social upheavals of the early twentieth century.
