The monograph summarizes the experience of developing and applying the so-called "Situational room (SITROOM)" – a tool that allows using model constructions as an "assistant" in the work of the expert community. The authors propose a model-information cartographic system that allows running on-the-go analysis of large amounts of information about regions of the country using possibilities of cartographic representation. Particular attention is paid to the task of economy forming in the regions of new development in the Arctic zone of Russia, to the analysis of the historical experience of such developments, to the reasons for delays in implementing strategic plans, even adopted at the government level.
