The novel "Silver Dagger" is written by Sadettin Janpolat/Dzaurov, an ethnic Ingush from Turkey.
It all started on a spring evening in 1888, when the Ingush of the Nazran district of the North Caucasus decided to leave their native lands. Two brothers (Dzhambulat and Isa) set off on a journey to deliver a petition for resettlement to the capital of the Ottoman Empire, Istanbul. In the light of their journey, the novel tells about the lands and the peoples who inhabited them, the historical events that took place during that period.
