“Znatsi na prekhoda” is a book which has been born from the whirlpool of public passions in Bulgaria during the last years, from the clash of two trends – the adventures of the nihilism and the unbornness, carried out with the tireless passion of a handful of sorosoids and well-paid protesters and the timid awakening of patriotic energy as a counterbalance to the policy of the rulers of Bulgaria.
The first section of the book contains interviews published on the pages of some of the Bulgarian newspapers as well as in some of the Bulgarian news web-sites. The second and the third section cover articles and portraits devoted to bright personalities of the contemporary intellectual life in Bulgaria – scientists, directors, actors, writers. I consciously has chosen the principle of contrast and the spiritual antithesis – the Sun versus the Shadow, the Harmony versus the Chaos. This is how I see the Bulgarian transition (the period from the fall of the communist rule in 1989 until present days) – lofty people who build the Temple of the Bulgarian spirituality and national identity versus dark lombrosian people who by some kind of evil irony have been sent to the Bulgarians as a political elite but actually they are just ordinary hamsters and national traitors.” – Ivan Granitski
On the traditional annual awards of the Union of the Bulgarian Writers for 2016 the author Ivan Granitski was awarded in the “Literature critique” section for his books “Obraz i metafora” and “Znatsite na prekhoda” (the present one).
