The book is devoted to a controversial and still unresolved topic - Batu's campaign against Novgorod in 1238. The author is sure - on the basis of ancient Russian chronicles - that the main corridor for Batu's route to Novgorod was the Seligersky route, founded by the Novgorodians back in the 12th century.
