The aim of the proposed edition is to reconstruct the participation of Russian army and fleet in the war against China as well as military operations in the capital province of Chzhili. These events of 1900 played the most significant role in the history of Russian-Chinese relations. Nevertheless there exists no independent research devoted to these pages of Russian history. The author of the work makes an attempt to depict them and to investigate a wide range of attendant issues.
