The study is given to global and regional processes in the field of production and consumption of power resources. The causes of different levels and rates of power consumption between groups of nations are revealed. Analysis of international tendencies in oil industry is made, the factors governing demand and price of oil are established, the organization structure of oil supply is studied, and the technique of calculation of oil rent is described. On the basis of the author's methodology for the prediction of energy consumption, which combines procedures of classification, aggregation, and statistic modeling, the future power consumption is predicted for groups of nations with regard of kinds of power resources until 2030.
