The book is devoted to Ivan Beliayev, a Russian general of Paraguay army, participant of World War I and the Civil War. In the years of emigration he became one of the discoverers of the South-American continent. During the war between Paraguay and Bolivia he struggled for the freedom of Paraguay. After 1940 Beliayev did his utmost to save Paraguay Indians, preserve their original culture. The name of General Beliayev, a honorary citizen of Paraguay, is respected today in this country.
