From the end of 80s the Russian language has been changing so fast, that the society starts worrying about it, and sometimes even panic. In increasing frequency people speak not only about the spoiling, but about the death of the Russian language. The most morbid topics are those of the internet language; abuse spread; misuse of adoptions, slang and colloquial words.
Linguists do not always have time to satisfy all the social needs in the sphere of language and communication; they do not consider new phenomena in the vocabulary, speech etiquette, grammar, preferring to interpret them as usual rule breaking or even not making a notice of them at all. It is clear, that there is a necessity of an open conversation of linguists with the society, not as teachers, but as interlocutors, who understand the essence of the problems and are capable of their rational analysis, not only of an emotional assessment.
Such a calm and deliberate and at the same time an interesting discussion is suggested by the author of the present book.
