The development of the Internet in each of the 69 subjects of the Russian Federation was estimated on the data drawn from the polls conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation within the framework of the GeoRating Project, which are unique in scope and technologies employed. The analysis took into account both the size of the subject's population and its comprising social groups: male and female, different age groups, etc.
