The book by outstanding art researcher D.Sarabianov is an attempt to find common ground in the artistic culture of Russia and the West. The album scopes the period from the XVIIth till the beginning of the XXth century, the so-called Golden Age of the Russian art, the epoch that gave birth to brilliant masters of arts: architects, sculptures, painters whose unsurpassed creations became a part of the all-European artistic process. The author assigns the artistic uprise to stylistic and genre assimilation, personal and professional relations of Russian artists with masters from Italy, France, Holland, England, Germany and other western countries.
