Roman Shukhevych was the Chief Commander of the UPA in 1943-1950. He is not only a prominent figure in the history of the struggle for Ukrainian independence, but also a bright representative of the real Ukrainian elite: he came from an authoritative family, brilliantly educated, seriously engaged in sports and music, and eventually became a successful businessman. Roman Shukhevych was a fundamental enemy of the "Red Empire". A flexible tactician and insightful strategist, he did what has become obvious to many only now, in the context of the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
