The present monograph deals with Czech-Slovak cultural relations and the methodology of the Brno Czech-Slovak confrontations at the backround of Central European area in a series of studies covering the Czech-Slovak relations in the sphere of literary scholarship and critical evaluation, literature itself and individual personalities, besides some others, literary scholars Dionyz Durisin and Andrej Cervenak and the writers themselves like Ludovit Stur, Martin Kukucin, Dominik Tatarka, and the politician Alexander Mach. The interpretation focuses on the political contexts of literary phenomena in the crucial moments of the co-existence of both nations with decisive years 1968, 1989 and 1993, on the problems of Czech and Slovak poetry and genre spectrum including memoirs and quasimemoirs. The dominant approach is the understanding of Czech-Slovak cultural and literary relations - at the same time - mutuality and resistance.
