The first publication of the novel has a fascinating history of samizdat. Published as a supplement to the unofficial magazine, and then included into a three-volume collected works by Michael Berg, published by “Mitin magazine”, the novel has been repeatedly arrested during searches in the underground environment of Leningrad and was officially banned for dissemination and publication in the USSR. In January 2010 the Franc-Tireur Silver Bullet 2010 was presented to Michael Berg for the corpus of his works.
