The book tells about the round-the-world trip, which was involuntarily made by Petrograd children in 1918-1921. Sent to the Urals they were involved in the Civil war and were rescued by the American Red Cross. On a Japanese ship the children were taken first to America, and then through France and Finland back to Petrograd.
