In the monograph on the basis of the study of the current and inactive legislation and law enforcement practice of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia, as well as a wide range of scientific literature, a comparativist analysis of the principles of law (principles of positive law) and doctrinal principles of law in the national legal systems of Russia and Armenia is carried out. The work lays the foundations of a new scientific direction in legal science - a comprehensive comparativist study of the principles of law in different legal systems. Based on the positivist legal understanding, the author's concept of principles of law is formulated, which implies a clear distinction between principles of law (principles of positive law) and doctrinal principles of law, the functional role of principles of law and doctrinal principles of law in the legal systems of Russia and Armenia is determined, a comparative classification of principles of a number of branches of law in Russia and Armenia by the source of their fixation is carried out, and on its basis the common and special in the system of principles of law of the states under consideration is revealed; for the first time in the jurisprudence of the Russian and Armenian legal systems, the author's concept of principles of law is formulated.
