The chronological framework of the book Politics and Paranoia: The CPU in the Struggle against "International Zionism" is quite extensive, as it covers the period from 1953 to the mid-1980s. The book depicts the "vegetarian" period in the history of the USSR, when the authorities no longer practiced mass repression, but at the same time the ideological constants of late Stalinism, somewhat changed, remained in place. One of the components of the propaganda was the so-called "struggle against international Zionism." The content of the documents of the party, Soviet and punitive bodies impresses with its ideological rhetoric and latent anti-Semitism, a combination of distorted reality and lies. Built on the archives of the CPU, the book shows how far the methods of "anti-Zionist" propaganda were from real life and could not affect the minds of those who did not find themselves in the grip of Soviet society.
