Based on archival and printed materials as well as scientific literature, the monograph reconstructs historical portrait of the major figure of "post-October" Russian philosophical and social thought - Pitirim Sorokin. The author examines the influence of political situation in Russia of the early XXth century upon the formation of his personality as well as P.A.Sorokin's participation in the revolutionary events of 1917: he was a private secretary of the Head of the Temporary Government A.F.Kerensky, member of the Soviet of the Russian Republic, deputy of the Constituent Assembly, editor of the socialist-revolutionary newspapers "Delo Naroda" (People's Matter) and "Volya Naroda" (People's Will) as well as deputy of the First All-Russian Congress of the Peasants' Deputies.
