The monograph deals with formation of party system in contemporary Russia (1989-2003). In the 1st part Russian party life is examined in terms of its potential contribution to the development of the theory of parties. The particular attention is given to the party organization in the aspect of social relationship, united its members; dependence between the content of party political struggle and fundamental social conflicts; classification of party systems, as well as factors, defining their state. The second part dwells upon the development of party systems in Russia before the revolution of 1917 and during 1989-2003.
