Each edition existed in a single copy, such an exclusive. After the finished issue was published, it was read from hand to hand. The goals and objectives of handwritten journals were the same. They were one of the sources of propaganda, ideological and educational work among the partisans. These self-made "books" had room for poetry, stories, humor and even crosswords. What does a partisan magazine look like? It is impossible to say for sure. It can be a notebook or an album of very different sizes. The materials were typed on a typewriter or written by hand, and then decorated with drawings - pencil, gouache or even an ordinary pen. Most of the images were made by amateur partisan artists, but some of the magazines were illustrated by famous Belarusian artists G. Brzhozovskaya, M. Gurlo, S. Lee, V. Sukhoverkhova, L. Boyko. As a rule, the editors were secretaries of party organizations, commanders, but the composition of the authors was versatile. The absolute majority of the “writing” partisans belonged to the intelligentsia, among them the share of teachers was high - about 16 percent. From the texts we learn about how people ended up in partisan brigades, how they lived between military operations. Here they wrote not only about exploits, but also about the negative aspects of life, they ridiculed cases of drunkenness, looting, and failure to fulfill their duties.
