Nikolai Nikolaevich Kharlamov (1863-1935) was icon painter; academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts. Since 1892 Nikolai Kharlamov had been the director of the Kholui school of icon painting. In 1910, Nikolai Kharlamov was elected an academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts, the only academician from the Ivanovo land. His icon-painting works, which received wide recognition, were found not only in Russian churches, but also in Orthodox churches in various European cities, for example, in Vienna and Warsaw. The book contains unique material that can only be found in Moscow and regional archives.
